Summary
Education is becoming one of the key components of human resource development not only at the company level but also at the national level. In addition, information and communication technologies affect all aspects of human life, including educational opportunities. Thanks to information and communication technologies, it is possible to acquire knowledge in innovative ways, which replace or supplement classical education. This was best demonstrated by the period in which Croatia is currently: students, but also employees are participating in various aspects of e-education. There is a lack of research in the Croatian scientific literature that would address the problem of interconnection (e-)education, technology, human resources and economic development. However, based on the research done so far in domestic and foreign literature, it is realized that: human development is a key precondition for economic development; understanding and measuring the dynamics of economic development has undergone significant changes in modern science and in the practice of developed countries, and that measuring the education of human resources proves the link between economic development and development; human resources development is influenced and increasingly influenced by a range of activities undertaken by state, regional and local communities, businesses, families and individuals. This is precisely what determines the content of scientific research whose starting hypothesis is: By devising a strategic approach to the development of (e-)education, Croatia can significantly accelerate the development of human resources and significantly accelerate its economic development.
