EDT 2022
The Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Rijeka is organizing the international scientific conference Economics of Digital Transformations (EDT) DIGITOMICS, which will be held from June 23 to 25, 2022. The conference, like every year, is held in Opatija at the Ambasador Hotel live and partly online via the Zoom system.
The official opening of the Conference will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 9 a.m., where Prof. Ph.D. Saša Drezgić, President of the Program Committee of the Conference, Kristina Đukić, Deputy Mayor of the City of Opatija and Martina Ciglević, Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Croatia. At the beginning of the conference, Business Friendly City (BCF) certificates will be presented to cities that have previously met the prescribed certification criteria implemented by the Center for Local Economic Development of the Faculty of Economics, University of Rijeka. Certificates will be presented to Mr. Zvonimir Novosel, Mayor of the City of Jastrebarski, Marko Frišćić, Deputy Mayor of the City of Ivanec and Snježana Sikirić, Head of the Department for Economy, Tourism and Projects of the City of Crikvenica.
As part of the Conference, on Friday, June 24, starting at 3 p.m., there will be a promotion of the book Operational Management, which was created as a result of the joint work of professors in the field of operational management from the largest Croatian universities. The editor is full-time professor Dragana Grubišić from the Faculty of Economics, University of Split. The authors are associate professor Martina Briš Alić from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Osijek, full professor Dragana Grubišić from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Split, full professor Marija Kaštelan Mrak from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Rijeka, associate professor Marija Martinović from the Department of Economics and Business Economics at the University of Dubrovnik, full professor Jasna Prester from the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb and associate professor Nenad Vretenar from the Faculty of Economics, University of Rijeka.
An international scientific conference that in recent years has achieved significant not only scientific results, but also resonated in the business community. This year, the main topic of the conference is "Dealing with uncertainty", where the main topics of discussion will be the consequences of the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, as well as the current threat of inflationary pressures. which occur due to the rapid development of digital technologies and the increasing influence of digitization in economic processes.
The conference is not only dedicated to the scientific public. During the conference, a series of presentations and panel discussions will be held, which will discuss the challenges of migration, the energy crisis and new approaches to creating smart cities. As in previous years, we are continuing our tradition of inviting the world's most famous scientists from the field of economics.
