Presentation is not a nightmare - public speaking can be learned!
As part of the EU project: "Increasing the employability of students through the improvement of the Center for Careers and Development of Professional Practice - CEZAR", led by the Faculty of Economics, University of Rijeka, the Career Center organizes a workshop on: "Presentation is not a nightmare - public speaking can be learned! ".
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
Sooner or later, each of us must take a deep breath, calm our voice, and present publicly. When that happens, it will be the first impression that the audience will remember us for. We use public speaking skills in job interviews, when we present a seminar in college or when we simply want to convince friends that it is useful and fun to get involved in another business case competition. We are often unaware that non-verbal communication speaks more about us through everyday communication, and that the art of presentation can be learned.
During the online workshop, participants will learn:
- the difference between verbal and non-verbal speech
- how to take a dominant position during a public appearance (difference between dominant and non-dominant behavior)
- why body language is important and how to control it
- what is important for quality preparation of presentation
- how to behave at a job interview
- tips and tricks to improve public performance
Planned duration of the workshop: 4 hours (4-8 p.m.) with breaks.
The number of participants is limited, and applications are accepted until Wednesday - May 12, 2021, or until the place is filled via the ONLINE form available HERE.
Workshop participants are expected to actively participate and contribute to the discussion. All active participants will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the workshop.
ABOUT THE LECTURER:
Davor Pejić is not a professor, but he has behind him 9 years of numerous workshops, lectures and public appearances through which he passed on the knowledge of the art of public presentation to the participants in a relaxed atmosphere, applying fun methods. Davor has been a radio host for many years, and he has been a guest at conferences, gatherings, panels and lectures throughout Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Lithuania … And after thousands of hours of public speaking behind him, he will never say he is an expert but how it is always possible to progress and learn something new.
