The influence of the internal and external environment on the development of management

Abstract:

The pace of change in the internal and external environment is continuously accelerating and influencing management approaches and perspectives. This scientific research proposal integrates several environmental forces with the aim of investigating the following underlying hypothesis: The development of management theories, concepts, and approaches is a direct response to changing internal and external environmental conditions. Based on this underlying hypothesis, the objective of this research is to highlight and identify new theories and management approaches with respect to selected environmental conditions. New management approaches are based on the process of learning about internal and external constituents. Therefore, it is important to develop modern enterprises as learning organizations and to study the modalities for maintaining their learning orientation. In terms of technological development, the perspective of sociotechnical theory is used to study the factors that influence the agility and innovation of organizations, but also their absorptive capacity as their ability to recognize and assimilate valuable knowledge in the value creation process. These processes are particularly pronounced in the management of supply chains, which deserve special attention. However, it is also important to examine the influence of environmental contingency factors on the managerial ethical orientation and corporate social responsibility to ensure long-term business and social sustainability.
