World Bank Youth Summit 2022

This years Summit for youth by World Bank will be held virtualy in May, and topic is "The Power of Inclusion for Fair Growth" based on three main pillars of development: social, environmental and economic. What is "World Bank Group Youth Summit”?

Youth Summit was founded in 2013 and it is and annual event organized by World Bank Group (WBG) with the aim of connecting and engaging in dialouge with youth around the world abou actual topics and issues od nowdays. The WBG Youth Summit is a subsidiary of the Youth-to-Youth Network, the largest volunteer organization within the World Bank Group that promotes youth empowerment around the world.

The idea of inclusive growth has emerged as a central global topic in discussions of recovery and development after pandemic. Loss of wealth of human capital due to genda inequality is estimated at 160 billion dollars worldwide.  The outcome of the COP26 conference only further highlighted the need for ambitious plans and action. It is also estimated that the economic consequences of the pandemic will increase extreme poverty by between 73 and 117 million people worldwide. Given the multiple challenges facing the global community in the social, environmental and economic dimensions, the need for innovative ideas and solutions has never been greater.

Who can participate?

- Individuals or teams of up to 4 people

- Persons from 18 to 35 years of age

- No previous experience required

Finalists who submit the most innovative and best solutions and pass all rounds of the competition will have the opportunity to:

How to apply?

To apply, it is necessary to submit an elaborated solution and idea on one of the following topics:

1) Social inclusion as a stimulus for equitable growth

(education, health, gender, social safety net)

OR

2) Ecological inclusion as a stimulus for fair growth

(climate change mitigation, adaptation, innovative climate technologies)

OR

3) Economic inclusion as an incentive for fair growth

(access to financial services, financial decision-making, sustainable livelihoods and employment, mobilization of private capital)
