The Graduate University Study Program in Business Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Rijeka, is a two-year program (four semesters). The program is offered as both full-time and part-time study and carries a total of 120 ECTS credits.
Teaching is delivered according to a curriculum that includes a significant number of elective courses as well as the possibility of undertaking professional internships. This enables students to flexibly shape their study program in accordance with their interests and professional goals.
In addition to regular academic content, the program promotes strong connections with Croatian economic practice and international experience. Alongside faculty members from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Rijeka, teaching is also delivered by guest lecturers from international higher education institutions, as well as recognized experts from the business sector and public administration.
Upon completion of the graduate university study program in Business Economics, students are awarded the academic title of Master of Economics (univ. mag. oec.).

WHAT STUDENTS LEARN AND DEVELOP
The program is focused on deepening theoretical and applied knowledge in economics and business economics, as well as on developing competencies necessary for independent and responsible work in a complex and dynamic economic environment.

Upon completion of the graduate university study program, students earn at least 120 ECTS credits and meet the requirements for enrollment in doctoral studies or university specialist programs.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE
The right to enroll in the Graduate University Study Program in Business Economics is granted to candidates:
- who have completed an undergraduate university study program in economics or business economics
- or who hold a certificate of completion of the Program for acquiring missing knowledge, skills, and competencies (Bridging Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Rijeka)
Enrollment in the first year of the graduate program will take place in September 2026, following the publication of the University of Rijeka’s official call for applications for graduate studies.
Applications are submitted via the online enrollment system (ISVURI), available during the enrollment period.
Upon enrollment in the first year, students select their specialization track.

STUDY COSTS
Full-time students study with financial support from the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth and are entitled to benefits such as health insurance, subsidized meals, and accommodation in student dormitories.
