Services

User Registration

The primary users of the EFRI Library are students and staff of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Rijeka. Other groups of users may also become members of the Library, including alumni, students from other faculties, and others.

For student registration, it is necessary to present a student ID card and complete the registration form at the Library lending desk, or give consent for entering user data into Bukinet via AAI@EduHr.

By registering with the Library, a contractual relationship is established between the user and the Library, regulated by the EFRI Library Rules of Procedure.

Library membership is free of charge, while services are charged according to the current EFRI Library Price List.

Book Loans

Students of the Faculty may borrow up to three books at the same time. For the purpose of writing a final, graduate, or doctoral thesis, students may borrow up to five books at the same time. Books may be kept for 30 days, with the possibility of loan renewal.

Users may renew borrowed books themselves through the library catalogue if the book has not been reserved by another user and the return deadline has not passed. Loans can also be renewed at the lending desk, or by contacting the Library by e-mail or phone.

Reading Room

The Reading Room has 30 computer workstations available for use by Faculty students. It is open from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Information Services

Students and staff may contact the Library for help or advice in searching for literature. The Library offers individual bibliographic instruction every day during Library opening hours, as well as by appointment with prior notice by e-mail.

Training

Library staff provide individual training to users on the principles of searching for scientific information. Students and staff may contact the Head of the Library to arrange individual training, either in person or online.

When needed, the Library also organises and holds workshops on information searching in databases, especially for students of specialist and doctoral studies, as well as on the use of specific information systems or databases. Teachers interested in cooperation may contact the Head of the Library.

Interlibrary Loan

The Library highlights the RapidILL digital document delivery service, which enables fast interlibrary delivery of articles and book chapters from foreign publications. If you need a specific article or book chapter to which the Faculty does not have access, please send an e-mail with the bibliographic information about the article or chapter to knjiznica@efri.uniri.hr. The Library will try to obtain the requested material through this service and send it to you by e-mail as soon as possible.

This service can be used to access closed-access papers from most international journals. It is available to Faculty staff and students and is free of charge.

The Library also provides interlibrary loan services for books and other publications from Croatian and international libraries. Please send an e-mail with the bibliographic information about the book or article to knjiznica@efri.uniri.hr. Interlibrary loan services are charged according to the EFRI Library Price List.

Acquisition

Teachers, other Faculty staff, and students may suggest the purchase of library materials. Suggestions should refer to materials needed for teaching and scientific research processes, and the person making the suggestion should state the purpose for which the proposed material is needed.

If the material is required or supplementary literature for a course, the teacher should state the course for which the literature is needed and the expected number of students attending the course.

Faculty staff may request the Library to acquire materials needed for scientific research and professional development in scientific fields of interest to the Faculty. Heads of scientific projects and project teams may request the acquisition of library materials for scientific projects, in a number of copies corresponding to the available financial resources of the project.

More information on the acquisition procedure can be found in the Guidelines for the Development and Management of the EFRI Library Collection.
