Mission
The Library of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Rijeka, supports students and faculty staff in teaching and scientific research processes. The Library provides fast access to reliable information from printed and electronic sources and helps users successfully find the information they need in an academic environment. The Library also provides support in monitoring bibliometric indicators and the scientific productivity of the Faculty’s staff.
Vision
The vision of the Library of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Rijeka, is to be the Faculty’s information centre — a place recognised by students, staff, and Faculty partners as a relevant point of reference in both the online and physical environment. The Library follows current trends and provides fast and efficient access to the latest scientific information in economics and related fields, as well as support in the areas of scientific publishing and bibliometrics.
Premises
The Library is located on the ground floor of the Faculty building at Ivana Filipovića 4 and covers an area of 290 m². The Library premises include a reading room with 30 workstations equipped with computers, a lending department, a staff office, and storage rooms for books, journals, and other materials.
Collection
The Library collection includes textbooks, manuals, and other professional and scientific literature required for the study of economics, as well as encyclopaedias, lexicons, dictionaries, and Croatian and international professional and scientific journals. The Library collection is continuously expanding and today contains nearly 50,000 items. The majority of the collection is acquired through purchases funded by the Faculty’s own financial resources, while the remaining part is obtained through donations and exchange.
