Program Objective
The aim of the lifelong learning program Micro-qualification: Identifying Environmental Changes and Risk Management is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to understand, analyze, and interpret changes in the natural environment and society, and to apply interdisciplinary approaches to managing risks associated with extreme natural and social events.
The program enables participants to acquire competencies in environmental science, physics, economics, and statistics, with a particular emphasis on the analysis of climate change, environmental degradation, data processing, and the design of institutional mechanisms for managing common goods.
Program Duration
The program lasts two semesters, during which participants attend classes and complete coursework in three courses, totaling 18 ECTS credits.
Program Delivery
The program is delivered in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online teaching. Classes are conducted over 15 weeks per semester and include lectures, exercises, seminars, independent work, and the use of e-learning systems.
This mode of delivery allows flexibility for employed participants as well as those who do not reside in Rijeka.
Lecturers
Teaching is delivered by faculty members of the University of Rijeka from the Faculty of Physics and the Faculty of Economics and Business:

The lecturers have scientific and teaching expertise in environmental physics, statistics, economics, and risk management.

- individuals involved in the development and implementation of environmental, climate, and development policies, strategies, and projects
