1. Preparation and information
At the beginning of the semester, students receive information about their internship requirements and access to the EFRI Internship Portal. Students are encouraged to consider their interests, goals and the areas of work they would like to explore.
2. Finding a host organisation
The Portal lists active host organisations. Students can research employers, read internship descriptions and choose a position that matches their goals. If their preferred organisation is not listed, they can propose it using the “Propose an Employer” option.
3. Registration and reserving an internship
Students complete their profile, upload a CV in Croatian or English and select their areas of interest. Once they have found a suitable organisation, they apply using the “Reserve an Internship” option. The employer may then invite them to an interview or assessment.
4. Approval and start of the internship
Once the employer has accepted the application and the course coordinator has approved the start of the internship, the Portal generates an Internship Referral. Students cannot begin their internship without this document. They then agree on a start date, tasks and work schedule with their mentor.
5. During the internship
Students must:
- follow the host organisation’s internal rules;
- update their Internship Diary regularly, no later than 48 hours after completing the work;
- discuss their progress with their mentor;
- gather information for the Report on the Achievement of Learning Outcomes.
At the same time, the Faculty monitors students’ progress and works with the mentor at the host organisation.
6. Completing the internship
At the end of the internship, the student and mentor exchange feedback. The mentor confirms the required documents and completes the evaluation through the Portal. After the Career Centre, mentor and course coordinator have reviewed the documentation, the student receives a Certificate of Successful Completion of the Professional Internship.
