Accreditations and Memberships

EFMD – Management Development Network is one of the world’s largest accreditation bodies. Its members, primarily educational institutions, meet high quality standards by promoting excellence in the study programmes they deliver and by having a significant impact on the communities in which they operate.

It was established by the European Commission with the aim of promoting and standardising excellence in the field of business education.

AACSB – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business is the oldest international accreditation institution, established in 1916. Through its long-standing work, AACSB contributes to the continuous improvement of quality in the fields of economics and business economics.

Only around 5% of higher education institutions worldwide meet the requirements to join the prestigious community of AACSB members, which includes Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and many other leading institutions.

EDAMBA – European Doctoral Programmes Association in Management and Business Administration is an association that brings together faculties offering postgraduate doctoral studies in business economics.

It includes around 60 universities from 30 countries, both in Europe and on other continents. Membership in EDAMBA is based on meeting high quality standards in the delivery of the teaching process, international openness and networking, cooperation with the business sector, and the scientific activity of professors involved in postgraduate doctoral studies.

ICC – International Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1919 in Paris and is the world’s largest business organisation. It represents the interests of the global business community before the World Trade Organization and the United Nations.

Today, ICC operates through 93 national committees which, together with direct members around the world, form a global network of 6.5 million companies in more than 130 countries.

ASHE – Agency for Science and Higher Education ensures quality in higher education and science, following the practices of European Union countries.

By becoming a full member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and by being included in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), established by the E4 Group, ASHE’s credibility as a European agency authorised to carry out external quality assurance procedures across the entire European Higher Education Area (EHEA) was confirmed in 2011.

HUP – Croatian Employers’ Association is a voluntary, non-profit, and independent employers’ association that protects and promotes the rights and interests of its members.

It was founded by a group of respected Croatian business leaders who recognised the strength of joint action and the role of an employers’ association in tripartite relations.

PRME – Principles for Responsible Management Education

The Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Rijeka, became a member of the United Nations initiative launched in 2007 under the name Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).

PRME was created as a platform to raise awareness of sustainability among educational institutions worldwide, especially with the aim of developing awareness among business economics students about the importance of introducing changes in this area.

By incorporating the principles of this initiative into teaching and research programmes, as well as socially relevant activities, institutions such as business schools and faculties of business economics educate future leaders by developing skills that support economic development, sustainability of the local and wider community, and the inclusion of its stakeholders.
