Project Summary
The four-year project AI4GovAccelerate addresses the key objectives of Call 5 of the Digital Europe Programme through:
- Designing and co-creating, together with the public sector and industry, and subsequently implementing two annual editions of an online educational program, complemented by self-directed and extracurricular activities. The program aims to provide participants with the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills required for ongoing digital transformation, with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI), data spaces (DS), and digital governance transformation (DGT).
- Bringing together higher education institutions and organizations from the public and private sectors across 20 EU Member States and associated countries, with a truly pan-European scope and ambition. The goal is to attract innovative talent, engage top teaching staff, and complement them with qualified international experts, researchers, and practitioners—many of whom are directly involved in or leading successful digital transformation processes within and around the public sector.
- Building and establishing a distributed knowledge base and innovation platform. This infrastructure (AI4Scale) will not only connect participating higher education institutions—enabling shared use of equipment, resources, and capacities for the benefit of program participants—but will also allow practical applications in AI, data spaces, and digital governance transformation. Additionally, it will connect all relevant stakeholders within the EU GovTech ecosystem, providing access to opportunities for collaboration in public service innovation.
- Strengthening and consolidating a global network of excellence in AI, data spaces, and digital governance transformation (AI4Engine). This AI-driven network will identify talent from academia, innovators, startups, and key practices in public services, anticipate trends and emerging directions, and enable the integration of both existing and new stakeholders into the AI4Scale platform, while supporting and enhancing the educational program.
